Perfect to Me – Let’s Capture These Sketches #104

Ness created a fabulous sketch for our dt work on Let’s Capture These Sketches this week. When I saw it, I decided Webster’s Pages All About Me would be perfect for it. As it happens, Webster’s Pages challenge for this month is to use their All About Me line and include journaling about the person or people featured on the layout.

One of my goals for this year has been to journal on my pages by hand more often and also scrap pages that aren’t just the happy moments. I chose this picture to scrap the moment rather than a baby picture since it’s not very obvious that he’s missing toes on this right foot in the vast majority of photos and this one captures his true nature. He’s my easy going, always smiling, happy-go-lucky kiddo with a magnetic personality that everyone is drawn to. The journaling towards to top is about his personality. The journaling at the bottom talks about the day he was born, though I had to shorten it to fit. Toes or no toes he is and always will be Perfect To Me.

Firedog layout – Sketchy Thursdays Challenge Entry

Here’s Matthew when he was 2 years old. His preschool was having a unit on Community workers and had a Fireman visit the school. He had a blast checking out the fire engine. They even let him get inside! As you can see, the teachers went all out. ๐Ÿ˜€ He came home with his little paper hat with the ears and a little black painted nose. It was so cute! By the time I grabbed the camera, he’d already rubbed some of the paint off of his face, but you get the idea. This layout was based on the Sketchy Thursdays 3.31 sketch:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Timepiece 12×12 cardstock paper
BB Midnight Frost cardstock papers
BB Midnight Frost diecut sticker
BB Timepiece Chipboard
BB Timepiece Dimensional Stickers
May Arts ribbon
Tattered Angle Shimmer Mist
Shimmerz paint
Inksssentials white opaque pen
Sakura Pigma brown brush pen
Distress Ink

Adhesives:

Helmar 450 Quick Dry Liquid
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac

Tools:

Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge/Border Punch

Do What? layout – Sketchy Thursdays challenge entry

Here’s Matthew up close and personal. ๐Ÿ˜€ These were taken when he was just 2 years old. This kiddo loves the camera (unlike Christian…I’m still trying to get shots of him where he isn’t staring at me like I’m an alien!).

I created this layout based on the 3.03 sketch provided on Sketchy Thursdays for their challenge. Everything you see, except the brown alphas and brown cardstock I used to mat the photos, is from Bo Bunny’s gorgeous Garbielle line. I love this beautiful, detailed line and enjoyed further challenging myself to use what seems at first to be a “girly” range on a boy page. This has been a goal of mine since 95% of my crafty goodies tend to be girly, but I have 4 boys and 1 girl! Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Gabrielle 12×12 papers
American Crafts Brown cardstock
BB Gabrielle stickers
BB Pet Shop sticker alphas
BB Gabrielle “True Friend” cardstock stickers
BB Gabrielle brad
BB Gabrielle chipboard

Adhesives:

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro PermaTac
