Enjoy the Ride – S.W.A.T application layout

There’s a newer challenge site I found recently called S.W.A.T (Scrap Warriors Advanced Training) and they’re currently having a dt call, so I decided to apply. 😀 As part of the application, they ask that you create a layout based on the sketch provided, using one of your favorite trendy techniques. After a long break from scrapping, it was great to find such a fun sketch to work with right off the bat! 😀

For my take on the sketch, I used Webster’s Pages’ Girl Land collection. Let’s face it, if I’m going to continue my WP obsession, I really need to use up some of my stash, right? I chose layered, punched borders as my trendy technique. I figure it’s a trend that has longevity and I love texture and depth it adds to a page.

Here’s what I came up with:

Scrum-didily-umptious card for the Pagemaps 1-2-3-4 card challenge

If you didn’t already know, Pagemaps is filled with fabulous challenges for layouts and cards. This one combines a cards sketch with a recipe for an added twist. You need to use 1 button or brad, 2 patterned papers, 3 layers and 4 colors. For my take on the sketch and recipe, I used only the Bo Bunny Sweet Tooth collection and a bit of twine from my stash. Here’s what I came up with:

Relax card for Bo Bunny May Card Challenge

There’s a fabulous sketch for May on the Bo Bunny blog. It’s perfect for any style of card making, so my first instinct was to create a mixed media card for it. After a little more thought though, I decided to create one using mostly paper so that I’d be using more BB product. 😀 For my card, I went with their Barefoot and Bliss collection from a couple of years ago. I love the bright cheery colors in this line. Everything used on my card is from this one collection! Here’s what I came up with:

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2013 – May

After taking a long break from crafting I’m now getting myself ready to re-enter the craft world, so to get my feet wet I figured a tag would be the best way to go. 🙂 When I think about tags, I can’t help but also think about Tim Holtz and his fabulously grungy, vintagy (is that even a word? lol), technique-filled creations, so I stopped by his blog for inspiration.

Each month, he shares a new tag, posts a tutorial on how he created it and challenges readers/followers to link up their creations inspired by that month’s tag. You can follow along as loosely or as closely to his design as you’d like. 😀

Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

#8 tag
Fancy Pants rubons
Distress stains
Distress ink
Unity Stamps
Staz On ink
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Film Strip Ribbon
TH Idea-ology Muse Token
TH Idea-ology Word Band
TH Idea-ology Trimmings
G45 brad

Adhesives:

Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots
Terrifically Tacky Tape
