Climb Every Mountain – dt layout for SKWAD

This is the dt layout I created for the October Sketch challenge at SKWAD. Around this time last year, Alex was playing soccer and our other kids were playing on the sidelines during his practices and games each weekend. In these pictures, Christian is trying really hard to make his way up a little hill with a bit of an incline. His new shoes and the grass seemed to create a bit of a challenge for him, so it seemed he might as well have been trying to climb a mountain…thus the title for the page. 🙂 I used Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic papers and a bit of bling and trim from that collection. Here’s what I came up with for the sketch:

2 Birthday Cards for 2 Bo Bunny card sketch challenges

I’m still trying to learn how to make cards. There. I said it. lol So the way I see it, the only way for me to learn is by making more cards, right? From now on, you’ll be seeing a lot more cards from me. Some will be decent. Others will be…eh…and others, will be down right embarassing, but I have to at least try. LOL Lucky for me, Bo Bunny has Tuesday card challenges on their blog. The posts are filled with gorgeous inspiration that is totally lost on me still…but I’m trying! This post has my entry for both the January sketch which is due Feb 13 and also the Feb sketch which is due Feb 20th.

Here’s my take on the sketch that was posted on February 7th:

Family Layout – Sketchy Thursdays

This photo was given to me by Larry’s Aunt. It was taken at Aunt Beth’s Retirement party. Though she’s in the photo, you can’t see her…she’s the one hidden behind the baby. 😀 Larry’s father is playing the guitar and his dear Aunt Hazel who passed away May of 2010 is on the far right. I tried my best to take a clear photo of this layout because the photo itself is blurry. For this page, I used Sketchy Thursdays’ sketch 9.1. Here’s my take on it:

Materials:

Bazzil cardstock
Daisy D’s Beacon Hill papers
Maya Road trim
Webster’s Pages storytellers alphas
Eyelet Outlet Button shaped brads
Acrylic paint
Distress Ink

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Zap Dots

Tools:

EK Success label punch
Fiskars border punch
