Creative Embellishments and Scrap Around the World

It’s been ages since I last crafted, so it was great to take some time out to create a layout using some of my favorite Creative Embellishments chippies, veneers and an adorable flair button. 😀 CE is sponsoring Scrap Around the World this month and their incredibly talented dt members were given the opportunity to guest design for SATW as well! Check out this post CLICK HERE on the CE blog to see teams amazing examples for the SATW challenge! Here’s the gorgeous mood board SATW has to inspire us this month:

I was inspired by the natural, earthy colors, flowers, waves in the lady’s hair, the wood. Here’s what I came up with:

Remember, SATW offers many prizes to their challenge participants! CE is offering up a $30 gift certificate to their store which will be awarded to the 3rd place winner for their February Challenge, so be sure to read all the challenge details and rules for entry and upload your project inspired by their mood board by the end of the month!

Beach Memories – dt layout for Sketchabilities

For my example of sketch #100 at sketchabilities, I used the 4 Nautical themed wood cuts by Creative Embellishments and their laser cut Life Preserver chipboard piece. CE is also sponsoring this challenge and offering a $20 gc prize to one lucky winner! 😀 Here’s what I came up with:

beach memories

The compass, star and life preserver are actually navy blue, but look black in the pic. I was also inspired by the challenge at 7 Dots Studio to incorporate “memories” into the page and the challenge at scrapki-wyzwaniowo to use the colors green, yellow and blue.

Materials:

Creative Embellishments anchor, boat wheel, compass and star wood cuts
CE Life Preserver chipboard
CE flourish
7 Dots Studio 9th Wave and Wonderland paper
Drywall tape
gesso
Modeling paste
TH timpiece
TH corked vial

Climb Every Mountain – dt layout for SKWAD

This is the dt layout I created for the October Sketch challenge at SKWAD. Around this time last year, Alex was playing soccer and our other kids were playing on the sidelines during his practices and games each weekend. In these pictures, Christian is trying really hard to make his way up a little hill with a bit of an incline. His new shoes and the grass seemed to create a bit of a challenge for him, so it seemed he might as well have been trying to climb a mountain…thus the title for the page. 🙂 I used Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic papers and a bit of bling and trim from that collection. Here’s what I came up with for the sketch:

Last Chance! Only 1 Class Kit Remaining!

These are the 2 pages I created for the September Class Kit at SKWAD (Scrapbook Kits with a Difference). For September, Julianne sent me some lovely Webster’s Pages Girl Land papers and stickers to work with, along with some flowers, buttons, twine, a pin, a crown chippie and a doily. All class kits come with everything you need to create the pages shown (except basic materials like scissors, pens, ink and glitter glue) and step by step instructions on how to recreate the examples. I’m very late getting this posted, so if you’d like the class kit shown below, please hurry! There’s only 1 left! CLICK HERE to go to the listing at SKWAD.

TFL!
