Card for the Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

This is my take on the current Bo Bunny Card Sketch (they have one each month). I used last year’s Gabrielle collection pp, diecut stickers and layered stickers. I added color to a standard white doily with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and here’s what I came up with:

I mainly used Helmar Premium Craft Glue, but the sentiment piece is popped up with Zap Dots (foam squares) and the seam binding bow was adhered using 450 Quick Dry.

My Guy Layout – Sketchy Thursdays Challenge Entry

Oh how I love to combine my dt work with challenges. 😀

The December GDT sketch on Sketchy Thursdays has the additional requirement that your page reflect gratitude or thankfulness. When asked what am I most thankful for or grateful for, the first thing that comes to mind would be my family. Larry and the children. Though I’m usually tempted to scrap the children’s photos for a page like this, when I thought about it more, I kept going back to the thought that our family would not be complete without Larry. I can’t think about the children without also picturing him with them. Playing with them, teasing them, smiling at them, etc…then I knew I wanted to scrap a couple of photos of my handsome hubby that I’ve been holding onto.

This week, on the Firefly Expressions Blog, we’re focusing on Shimmer Papers by The Paper Company. Once I noticed how well the B sides of the Peach and Grass Green papers went with the Prima Pixie Glen collection, I knew I wanted to combine my dt work on ffe w/the ST sketch. 😀 Here’s what I came up with:

The journaling reads: “We might not agree on everything, but I’m thankful for every day we have together & am grateful that we found each other. You make our family complete.”

Now you might be wondering why I started it with “We might not agree on everything”…it’s cuz he’s in his camo…he was hunting the day the photos were taken and I’m not real thrilled with hunting, but it’s a family tradition he grew up with, so we agree to disagree on the subject. 😉

Scrapbook Challenges Summer Event Layouts

Still playing catch up…these next layouts were also from Scrapbook Challenges’ Sizzling Summer event full of fab sketches. 😀 These were the next two layouts I completed last month and again, I went with very different styles for them. I muddled this one up a bit, so here’s what I posted about it in the forum: “Okay, before everyone just thinks I’m a mist-loving freak…it was totally accidental. I brilliantly decided to add the misting that I’d forgotten at the beginning, AFTER everything else was done. Well, my mister was clogged, so I poured it into an empty one that apparently works waaay too well. Therefore the huge splotch over the photos, so the rest is over done in order to blend that mess in better and I had to keep masking off different areas as I went, so you can see the results of that attempt to salvage my project too. lol So, the title of my piece should be “When misting runs wild” but it’s actually called “Unique”. The journaling reads, “The two of you are so different, I think it’s funny that you always used to compare your work! March 2004″…and here’s the result of the faulty misting:

Again, no detailed list of materials on this post, but contact me if you have any questions. Cosmo Cricket 6×6 papers, tattered angels mist, Webster’s Pages storyteller alphas. This is the sketch I used for my layout:

The second one I’m sharing today is very CAS and shows my silly guy asking me to take pics of whatever happens to be in his hand whenever I take his picture. This was a regular occurance for a couple of years, so I figured I would document it. 😀

How’s this for appropriate. I went with Simple Stories Life Documented for that one. 🙂 Here’s the sketch:

TFL! One more post should take care of the layouts I missed from last month! 😀
