First Day of School (Kindergarten) – Layout for Creative Scrappers sketch #197

I absolutely love Creative Scrappers sketch #197! As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect for my dt layout for the Manufacturer/Brand challenge I’m hosting on Paper Secrets. This month’s featured manufacturer is Graphic 45, so I selected a pic of Matthew this last fall on his first day of school and the fabulous G45 ABC Primer. I was also thrilled to be able to incorporate some of the gorgeous Dusty Attic chippies I got from the STTG scrap store! Here’s my take on the sketch:

The Sky is the Limit – Layout for Sketchabilities Sketch #65

When I saw sketch #65 at Sketchabilities, I immediately knew I wanted to use the new Sunday Picnic collection by Webster’s Pages for it. I also knew I wanted to use the gorgeous Rainbow Sky page for a layout with photos of Christian on a swing set that I took last fall, so everything fell into place pretty easily. 😀 I hand stitched using embroidery floss to make the rainbow stand out more. I then used a doily as a mask for the larger circle element from the sketch and created a mask using waxed paper so the mist would not obscure the gorgeous rainbow. 😀 Here’s what I came up with for the sketch:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Sunday Picnic pp
WP Sunday Picnic fabric tickets
WP Sunday Picnic Perfect Accents
WP Sunday Picnic Dazzle Me Gems
WP Rose and Pearl Sparklers
WP Medallion Sparklers
WP Designer Threads
Little Yellow Bicycle doilies
Maya Road mist
Distress Ink

Adhesives:

Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner
Helmar Premium Craft Glue
Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots
Helmar Zap Dots

Tools:

Martha Stewart Punches

Controlled by the 3DS – Layout for Pagemaps

For my take on the current Pagemaps sketch (due March 4, 2012), I decided to go with Echo Park’s A Boy’s Life papers, diecut stickers and alpha stickers to compliment these photos of Taten playing his 3DS (which is his current obsession). He’s always insisting that someone or another watch as he plays, whether it’s me, his father or Alex…some has GOT to watch! lol

All the adhesives used were by Helmar (Quick Fix adhesive runner and Zap Dots). Here’s what I came up with:

Silly Boy – Layout for Creative Scrappers sketch #195

Creative Scrappers posts a new sketch every Sunday and all entries using their sketches are due at the end of the month, so this month, entries are due by February 29th. For my take on the sketch, I used Echo Park’s A Boy’s Life papers, diecut stickers and alphas. All adhesives used were by Helmar (Quick Fix adhesive runner and Zap Dots).

The photos on my layout were taken when Christian was especially fussy one night and out of ideas, Larry sat him in a diaper box that he’d emptied. Amazingly, it worked! Christian sat there fully engaged, occupied and HAPPY for nearly an hour. 😀 Here’s what I came up with for the challenge:
