True Beauty Layout – Bo Bunny Layout Challenge

Bo Bunny has a wonderful sketch posted for their challenge this month, so I knew I just had to play along! I selected this photo of Madison that I’ve been meaning to get to. It’s so hard for me to get a good picture of her unless I catch her by surprise…even then, it’s hit or miss…when she poses for the camera, she tends to plaster an odd smile on her face (like so many children do!) or when trying not to have a fake smile, she won’t smile at all and therefore appears sullen when she’s not. My one and only daughter is also full of attitude, so it often shows in her photos. lol πŸ˜€ I happened to catch her just right in this pic, so I figured it would be perfect for the BB Sketch. The Gabrielle range was perfect w/the purple of her shirt, so here’s my take:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers
BB Gabrielle chipboard stickers
BB Gabrielle layered chipboard
BB Gabrielle layered stickers
BB Gabrielle Cardstock sticker
BB Gabrielle Trinket
Distress Inks
Hero Arts crocheted trim
cream seam binding
Inkssentials white pen

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive Runner
Helmar Zap Dots
Helmar Acid Free Glue

Tools:

2 different Fiskars border/edge punches

Layout and a Card – Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss

About a month ago or so I won some of Bo Bunny’s new Barefoot and Bliss papers and their layered chipboard embellies. We’ve never taken the kids to the beach and I don’t have a single beach photo. However on the day we gave Christian his first sponge bath at home, he happened to be wearing a little romper that said “Beach Bum” on it and the colors seemed fairly appropriate, so I decided to use the BB for this layout. There was even a page that reminded me of bubbles, so I fussy cut and punched out some of the circles.

This layout is an example for the Paper Secrets July Sketch challenge. I rotated the sketch to better suit what I had in mind and here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss 12×12 cardstock papers
BB Barefoot and Bliss layered chipboard stickers
Pink Paislee alpha stickers

Adhesives:

Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar ZapDots

Then I used the scraps to create a card for my example for the PS July Card Sketch with a twist (the twist is that you must use a border punch). Here’s my take on the sketch:

Materials:

BB Barefoot and Bliss 12×12 cardstock papers
Twine from the Twinery

Adhesives:

Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry

Tool:

Martha Stewart doily lace punch

Hangin’ With Dad – Layout for Creative Scrappers Sketch#154

Now that I’ve moved onto Christian’s photos and Father’s Day is getting ever closer, I figured I’d scrap one for Larry. He prefers that flowers in general stay on layouts that feature Madison (though he does think that some of my handmade flowers are okay for boy pages) and he rarely likes doilies on “boy” pages. He does like when I use ink, paint and scruff things up a bit, so I kept things simple and went with a little paint, a little tearing, a touch of inking and a bit of distressing. For this layout, I went with the Creative Scrappers sketch#154 posted on May 1, 2011. I stuck very close to the sketch on this one and kept it clean the way Larry prefers. πŸ˜€ Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Midnight Frost 12×12 cardstock papers
BB Timepiece 12×12 papers
American Craft white cardstock
BB Timepiece dimensional sticker
BB diecut alpha stickers
Folk Art white acrylic paint
Distress Ink

Adhesives:

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro PermaTac

Here’s the fabulous Creative Scrappers sketch I was working with:
