Where’s Matthew? – dt layout for Lets Capture These Sketches #123

For my take on JJ’s sketch for Let’s Capture These Sketches challenge #123, I went with mostly primary colors using Echo Park‘s A Boy’s Life collection. The journaling reads, “July 16, 2011 – I was startled when I peeked into your room that night to check on you and you weren’t in bed! I had just passed the bathroom, but thought I could have overlooked you, so I looked for you there first. When you weren’t there either, I started to get worried. I raced to my room…no Matthew! I checked downstairs and all the other bedrooms and didn’t see any sign of you. Panicked, I checked your room again. To my relief, there you were…sleeping right on top of a 3 ft. high pile of folded blankets and plastic tubs of stuff animals and toys in the back corner of your room. You were snuggled in so deep, only your head was poking out!”

I went with “Where’s Matthew”? As the title because the photos remind me of Where’s Waldo. lol Here’s my take on JJ’s sketch:

Materials:

Echo Park A Boy’s Life papers
EP A Boy’s Life diecut stickers
EP A Boy’s Life Alpha stickers
October Afternoon buttons
twine

Adhesives:

Helmar Premium Craft Glue
Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots

Discover – Layout for The Paper Variety and CS #198

This is one of my favorite photos of Christian from the photos we took last fall at the playground. He wandered all over the playground with his father in tow. 😀 Little cutie was so tiny he could even walk with room to spare beneath all the equipment! I combined the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at The Paper Variety with an awesome sketch from Creative Scrappers to create this layout. The quote on the diecut sticker that reads, “Not all those who wander are lost” by Tolkien is one of my faves, so I just had to use it for this page.

From the TPV’s challenge, I selected the bottom row and created a layout, incorporated faux stitching and diecut stickers.

Here’s what I came up with using the gorgeous CS sketch #198:

Materials:

American Crafts black cardstock
Reminisce Expedition Destination papers
Reminisce E.D. diecut stickers
Canvas Corp burlap
Prima vine
Prima Printery tile
Prima Printery Avon Rose flowers
Prima Printery Coventry Rose flower
Distress Walnut Stain ink pad
Distress Antique Photo stain

Adhesives:

Helmar Premium Craft Glue
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots
