Prickly Kisses – Sketchy Thursdays and Bo Bunny Challenges

Love when things just come together so naturally. 😀

When I saw the 10.6 sketch at Sketchy Thursdays, I knew it would be perfect for this set of photos I’ve been wanting to scrap with Christian, who was 4 months old at the time, and Larry. We just can’t resist those chubby cheeks of his! Anyway, Larry’s kisses tend to get pretty prickly especially if it isn’t immediately after he shaves. Christian weathers though fine now, but wow when he was an infant, he’d wail for me to rescue him after just a kiss or two! lol

In the photos, he’s wearing a cutie one piece outfit and is wrapped in a matching muslin blanket which he loved, so I wanted to bring out the colors from the patterns. Bo Bunny’s Welcome home from their last release was just perfect! I anxiously stalked the mailman waiting for the papers, trinkets, brads and noteworthy pack to be delivered so I could get started! The colors and designs on the papers were so much prettier than I’d expected. Gorgeous!!! BB’s current layout challenge is to add dimension to your page, rather than a sketch, so I was able to combine these two challenges. Here’s what I came up with for my layout using the fab BB papers and embellies and the wonderful Sketchy Thursdays’ sketch:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Welcome Home papers
BB Welcome Home trinkets
BB Welcome Home Noteworthy diecut journal pages
BB Welcome Home Brads
BB Welcome Home jewels
BB Welcome Home diecut sticker
Maya Road chipboard alphas
Folk Art Acrylic paint
Tim Holtz Distress Ink

Adhesives:

There She Goes – Lily Bee Sketch Challenge

Wow! Ask and they deliver! Just last Monday on the Lily Bee Blog, they asked what we, as the readers, would like to see on their blog. A bunch of us made suggestions and one thing that came up frequently was challenges. Then, just 2 days later, what did I see? An awesome sketch challenge!!! 😀 To qualify, just use the sketch as your inspiration and use at least 2 Lily Bee products. Easy, right?

Since the sketch incorporates some fab circle elements, I immediately thought of these photos of Madison that I took last year. We were at Taten’s football game and she was bored. Larry jokingly told her to run a few laps. She happily jogged along chatting w/the other runners and jogging in place at times waiting for someone to catch up (all the other runners that day were adults looking for a bit of exercise!). Before we knew it, she’d run 4 laps around the track which is 1 mile, so we had her stop. lol Here’s my take on the sketch (the 3 paper circles and 1 stitched one representing her 4 laps):

Like Father, Like Son Layout – DT work for Let’s Capture These Sketches

I loved working with this sketch by Ness for my dt work on Let’s Capture These Sketches. I’ve been dying to scrap these awesome photos of Larry with Christian when he was just 4 months old. Our little ham is soooo good at imitating all of Larry’s weirdness, so it was fun to capture these images of him mirroring his daddy. I went with some fab papers, rubons and acrylic by Fancy Pants. I just added a touch of Tim Holtz alcohol ink to the acrylic star and mounted it to some coordinating ledger cardstock, then topped it with a fab Heidi Grace translucent button. The journaling spot is by Jillibean Soup. Here’s what I came up with:

Sweet Little Diva Layout – Berry71Bleu and Let’s Scrap

This layout of Madison was actually created last month for two separate challenges. One was a sketch from Let’s Scrap. Though it was a 2 page sketch, they allow you to either create a 2 pager or just pick one half for inspiration. I opted to use the right half for the layout. The other was a recipe challenge on Berry71Bleu. The recipe called your the layout to include: 1 cardstock base, 3+ patterned paper (1 of which must be a circle of at least 10cm), 1 lace/ribbon/trim, 1 journal spot, 2 buttons and 4 embellishments of your choice (I decided to add 1 more button, 1 more journal spot, rhinestones and stickles), a title of your choice. Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bazzill cardstock
Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate papers
WP Let’s Celebrate Journaling cards
WP Let’s Celebrate trim
Teresa Collins blingage
WP Vintage Inspired Buttons (Sparklers)
WP Storytellers Alphas
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alpha stickers

Ranger/Inkssentials White Pen

Adhesives:

Helmar 450 Quick Dry
