Nikki Sivils Max and Mollie card for Paper Secrets Hop

The Max and Mollie line by Nikki Sivils was so much fun to work with, I just had to make at least one card before putting it away. I decided to use it for one of the sketches on the Paper Secrets Twisted Card Hop. Here’s what I came up with for the challenge posted on Nicolle’s blog for the event:

Materials:

Nikki Sivils Max and Mollie 12×12 paper
Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas
Queen & Co. rhinestone

Always Together – Sketchy Thursdays 9.15 sketch and ScrapFIT

Sketchy Thursdays has partnered up with ScrapFIT this week for their challenge! Simply combine sketch 9.15 from Sketchy Thursdays with the theme “Friendship” for twice the chance to win. Full details are on their blogs.

For my take on the sketch, I went with the fab Max and Mollie line by Nikki Sivils. I added some stitching to accentuate the sunrays that are part of the paper’s design, fussy cut a few details to layer (the sun and 2 of the flowers) and cut out the cutie Max and Mollie characters from the cut apart page. Then, all it needed was an MME (My Mind’s Eye) Stella and Rose journal spot, the packaging from some Prima bling and a little Cosmo Cricket sticker for the journaling area. 😀 The rhinestones are by Queen and Co. The journaling reads, “Just 13 mths apart, you two do everything together & are the best of friends. We were so worried you 2 would have trouble adjusting to being separated that we started Matthew in PreK early.” Here’s the layout I created based on the theme from ScrapFIT and sketch 9.15 from Sketchy Thursdays:

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive Runner
Helmar Acid Free Glue
Helmar Gemstone Glue

Tools:

EK Success border punch

Smile & Laugh Layout – Sketchabilities sketch

Sketch #52 at Sketchabilities was a lot of fun to work with! I really liked the layers and how different elements appeared tucked behind the photos. As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use the fab Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate papers with it and knew exactly which photos I wanted to use. Lucky for me, Scrapbookers Anonymous has a challenge this month to use journaling blocks/spots/cards on your project, which worked well with what I had in mind for this sketch. 😀 Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate papers
WP Let’s Celebrate Trim
WP Let’s Celebrate Journaling Cards
WP Let’s Celebrate Fabric Ticket
WP Spring Market Princess Petal
WP Pinwheel florette
Viva Pearl Pen

Adhesives:

Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Acid Free Glue
Helmar Zap Dots

Here’s the fab sketch I used:

In the Spotlight – DT Layout for Sketch #94

Charlotte created an amazing sketch for us to work with on the Let’s Capture These Sketches blog that was really fun to work with. It also happens that The Paper Variety is having a circle based challenge. To enter, your project must have at least 4 circles and be paper based. I’m pretty sure sketch #94 will make entering the Paper Variety challenge a snap! 😀

I decided to go with a photo of my daughter when she was just 1 1/2 years old. We were at one of Larry’s huge family’s summer reunions and some of the older family members were playing their guitars and singing. Well my little shoeless tot decided to start dancing right there in the middle of circle of spectators and quickly stole the show. The non-concentric circles made me think of a spotlight, so I figured the topic was perfect for the sketch. I also got to use the fab Webster’s Pages papers that Fia so kindly sent me during my dt term at Sketches4All. Here’s what I came up with for the example for the sketch and my entry in The Paper Variety challenge:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Trendsetter papers
WP princess petal
WP cameo
WP whimsies (resin flowers)
WP vintage inspired netting
WP Vintage Sparkler
WP Storytellers Alpha stickers
Want 2 Scrap bling flourishes

Adhesives:

Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar acid free glue

Tools:

Martha Stewart Circle Cutter
