March Eight Layout for Sketchy Thursdays

I was so sad to hear that this is Sketchy Thursdays last sketch. 😦 When I first started scrapping online about a year and a half ago, Sketchy Thursdays was one of the first sketch sites I found. For a person who was very nervous about posting their work online, ST was a wonderful start. The owners and DT have always been so warm and encouraging and I’ve always appreciated their lovely comments. Upon hearing this, I knew I had to play along with their final sketch even though I’ve barely gotten any sleep in the last couple of days (stomach bug that started w/the baby, passed to me and now 2 of the other kids). Though it’s not my best work, I am glad I got to participate in their last challenge.

This pic is from Matthew’s 3rd birthday and was taken on a slide at Chuckie Cheese. The papers are older, Sassafras papers from Me Likey and Sweet Marmalade.

Card for the Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

This is my take on the current Bo Bunny Card Sketch (they have one each month). I used last year’s Gabrielle collection pp, diecut stickers and layered stickers. I added color to a standard white doily with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and here’s what I came up with:

I mainly used Helmar Premium Craft Glue, but the sentiment piece is popped up with Zap Dots (foam squares) and the seam binding bow was adhered using 450 Quick Dry.

Sweet Moments/So Patient – 2 Layouts for Paper Secrets

Rochelle creates such gorgeous sketches for us to work with on the Paper Secrets forum each month. For my example for her sketch challenge this month, I used papers and a journaling card from an earlier Webster’s Pages Release. Sweet Season was just perfect for this photo of my daughter, Madison’s, gingerbread house project from Kindergarten. It doesn’t show up well in my pic, but I added stickles with a paint brush to 2 of the trees to give them some added sparkle and interest. I then added a couple of WP sparklers and a whimsey heart to finish it off.

The journaling reads: Oh, the joys of having a creative child! “Didn’t you want to use the milk carton base for your house?” I asked. “No, Mom, this is the witch’s house AFTER Hansel and Gretel ate it. See, they’re full!”

Here’s my example for Rochelle’s Sketch challenge:

Her awesome sketch:

This month, Nicolle is hosting the manufacturer challenge and she selected Jillibean Soup. They happened to have a sketch up on their blog, so I used it for my example for Nicolle’s manu challenge. The photo is from Matthew’s 3rd birthday as he patiently sat and waited for his presents. Here’s what I came up with:

Merry & Bright – Creative Scrappers Sketch #187

For my take on the Creative Scrappers Sketch #187, I went with the Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas and some photos of Christian from last year when he was dressed as Mickey Santa. 😀 Everything used on my page is included in the collection kit and the adhesives I used were Helmar’s Quick Fix Adhesive Runner and Premium Craft Glue. Here’s what I came up with:
