Congrats card – Get Sketchy challenge entry

Another site I hadn’t visited in a while was Get Sketchy, so I headed over there next and loved sketch #82 that they have posted for the current challenge. I’m still working with the fabulous Echo Park papers that Fia from Sketches4All sent me and they seemed perfect for this sketch, so here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

American Crafts white cardstock
Echo Park For the Record PP
EP For the Record diecut stickers

Adhesives:

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac
American Crafts This to That foam dots

TFL!

Little Yellow Bicycle (LYB) Envelope Tag Album – Paper Secrets Challenge

Here’s a fun project I worked on for one of the challenges on Paper Secrets. Though the birthday bash is this weekend only (you’re entered for a chance to win a prize w/each challenge you complete and each challenge has it’s own prize! Entries are due by 11:59 PT on Monday, April 4, 2011). For the month of April, instead of having the usual challenges, Kristi has decided to give everyone a chance to play along with the ones we created for the Birthday Bash, so if even if you do not get your project done for this weekend’s event, you can still enter your project for the April monthly prize! 😀

For the P-A-R-T-Y Stash challenge, YOU “create a project using items starting with the letters found in “PARTY”. All of your items should be visible so adhesive & tools will not count.” The example given was: P-pins, A-alphabets, R-ribbon, T-tape, and Y-yarn.

For my entry, I created an envelope tag album by LYB and embellished it using the Cupcake Love collection that I won on Glue Arts Facebook giveaway back in February (or was it early March?). Thank you Glue Arts and LYB!!! Now, it’s ready for Madison’s birthday pictures that I haven’t had a chance to get developed yet! Here’s how it turned out:

I went with P-Pink Patterned Paper, A-Album, R-Ribbon, T-Tags (the envelopes have tags inside, but I also added a canvas tag), Y-YoYo flowers. Here are SOME of the pages, starting with the front cover:

Here’s the back of the cover:

Two of the center spreads:

The back of one of the envelopes:

The other pages were decorated more simply, so I didn’t add photos of them. As you can see, I still left plenty of room for tons of cutie photos of my “lil cupcake”! 😀

Materials:

Little Yellow Bicycle Cupcake Love papers
LYB Envelope Album Kit
LYB Mini Banners
LYB Stitched Specialty Tags
LYB Canvas Sticker Borders
LYB Cardstock Stickers Favorite Pieces
LYB Fabric Favorites
LYB Dimensional Stickers
LYB Chipboard Shapes
LYB Flower Button Dots
LYB Epoxy Chipboard Buttons
LYB Paper Lace Stickers
Webster’s Pages Vintage Inspired Netting
Around the Block Paper Treats Heart Letter Brads
Heart and Circle Doilies
KI Memories ribbons

Adhesives:

Helmar 450 Quick Dry Liquid
Helmar Scrap Dots
Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro Perma Tac

Don’t forget I’m also offering up some blog candy for comments left on any post between April 3, 2011 and April 9, 2011! One comment per post per day please! Followers of my blog have a chance to win a separate prize! See my previous post for further details and pictures. TFL!

Altered Box for the Paper Secrets Birthday Bash

The Paper Secrets Birthday Bash officially starts 10am PDT today on their forum! Come join in on all the fun games and challenges scheduled for this weekend…for each challenge you complete and upload to the gallery, you will be entered to win a prize. Each challenge has its own prize (pics of the prizes you could win are attached to the individual challenge posts). All entries need to be submitted by 11:59 pm PDT on April 4, 2011.

I’m hosting the altered box challenge. You can alter any type of box you’d like (cardboard, chipboard, wood, etc), as long as you incorporate paper in some way. You can make it as simple or as elaborate as you’d like! For my example today, I went with simple. I started with a plain wood/wooden box:

Then I painted the edges on the interior and exterior:

Then covered all sides with paper:

I’m actually going to be creating a type of photo shadowbox with this, so it’s not embellished yet in these photos. After the weekend, I will post more pics with the completed project. TFL!

***Once you get to the Paper Secrets Forum, just click the topic “Paper Secrets Birthday Bash Games & Challenges.” That will then take you to the challenge and game posts. :-D***
