Gift of Gab – PageMaps sketch challenge entry

PageMaps is well known for their fabulous sketches which are frequently used on challenge sites throughout the web. I recently stopped by to see what they’re all about and found this great sketch posted with a challenge. I’m also entering this layout into Sketches in Thymes’ Open Challenge #4. You can enter any layout you have created that is based on a sketch (up to 3 entries). Here’s what I came up with based on this sketch:

Well, I just received a fabulous package of My Mind’s Eye’s newest release, Stella and Rose, so I decided to create a layout for this sketch using that line (I will be posting a review of Stella and Rose on Monday). Based on the photo I selected, I decided to go with the Hazel range. Here’s what I came up with for the challenge:

TFL!

My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose Collection, Hazel papers in “Special”
Bazzill solid colored cardstock
MME Bohemia “Bella” twill ribbon trim
MME Stella and Rose “Special” frame
MME Stella and Rose “special” tag
Making Memories brads
The Paper Company brads
MME Stella and Rose Mabel stamp
Pink Paislee alpha stickers
Cosmo Cricket tiny type alphas
DMC embroidery floss

Adhesives:

Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro PermaTac

Entry for Cardabilities Sketch#22

This card was created using Webster’s Pages Hollywood Vogue and Garden Gala Papers, a Lullaby Lane Fabric Fancy, Butterflies cut out from journaling cards, Kaiser pearls, Distress inks and iridescent medium (on the butterflies).

Valentine’s card

This card is based on a sketch by Card Patterns on the Sketches in Thyme blog for their challenge this week. I combined it with challenge 85 on Scrap Whispers, which is to create a layout or card using red and black, include a heart and add glitter. For this card, I used Webster’s Pages’ Hollywood Vogue and Garden Gala Papers as well as their trim. The scrolls are from Maya Road, but I cut them to the shape and size I wanted, then added stickles for the glitter. The brads are by Kaiser. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch for the scallop towards the bottom of the card and distress ink on all the paper edges. The hearts were hand cut.
