My Girl Layout – Once Upon a Sketch Challenge Entry

I’ve had this photo of Madison for quite a while and have been waiting for just the right sketch and papers to use for it. Getting a good picture of her is a challenge (she plasters on a fake looking smile whenever she sees the camera), so pretty pics of her are few and far between! I’ve been further challenged by the fact that it’s a Christmas pic, but doesn’t really look like Christmas? I wanted to use non-traditional Christmas colors and figured I’d just have to pick a line that’s actually meant for Spring. Well, Webster’s Pages recently released their Winter Fairy Tales collection for the Summer CHA and I found this wonderful sketch on Once Upon a Sketch and knew I’d finally found the perfect combination for my daughter’s photo. 😀 Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Winter Fairy Tales 12×12 papers
WP Dazzle Me Gems
WP Bloomers
WP Storytellers Alphas
WP heart Whimsey
Prima Flowers
Crocheted flower received in my prize pack by Marivic last month (berry71bleu.com)

Adhesives:

Helmar Acid Free Glue
Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots

Tools:

Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch

Romy posted a really cute sketch for the Bo Bunny card challenge. Here’s my take on the sketch combined with the sticker challenge:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers
Gabrielle cardstock stickers
Gabrielle stickers chipboard
Gabrielle Layered Chipboard stickers
Gabrielle trinket
Queen & Co rhinestones

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive runner
Helmar Zap Dots (foam dots)
Helmar 450 Quick Dry

Two Cards – Bo Bunny and Paper Secrets

Bo Bunny tends to post a card challenge on their blog about every other week or so and this time, they posted a really great card sketch on July 30th which is due tomorrow evening (Aug 14, 2011). Since I’m still learning to make cards, I figured this would be a great opportunity to work on a fun challenge. Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Timepiece pp
BB Timepiece diecut stickers
BB Timepiece chipboard
American Crafts solid cardstock base
Distress Inks

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive runner

This is the fab sketch they posted:

Next is a card I created for the Paper Secrets Card Challenge with a twist. The twist was to use chipboard, bling/pearls and ribbon.

I entered one of the layouts I’d created using Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate papers and trim into the Scrapbookers Anonymous challenge and you get a bonus entry when you use the scraps for a card. Since I got the fab Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate Papers from the Paper Secrets store (they have a 20% off offer right now that ends tomorrow at midnight. Use coupon code take20 at checkout), I figured the scraps from my layout would be perfect for this card! Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate pp
WP Let’s Celebrate trim
WP trendsetter chipboard button
Kaisercraft rhinestones
Distress Ink
American Crafts cardstock base

Adhesives:

Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Zap Dots

Here’s the pagemaps sketch for the card challenge:

Materials:

Basic Grey Oh Baby! Boy papers
BG Wisteria diecut stickers
My Mind’s Eye rhinestones
Distress Ink
