Sisters and Friends – DT layout for Let’s Capture These Sketches

I abreviated the title for the post. My layout is actually titled Sisters by Marriage, Friends by Choice.

For my take on sketch #102 on Let’s Capture These Sketches, I went with the gorgeous Vintage Blue papers by Glitz. It was my first time working with their papers…and I am in LOVE! Gorgeous prints, perfect weight and did I mention GORGEOUS?!! 🙂

There is also a mini challenge on Scrapbookers Anonymous to use a long title, so I decided to combine that challenge with my dt work for lcts. Here’s what I came up with:

Here’s the fab sketch by Charlotte that I got to work with:

Like Father, Like Son Layout – DT work for Let’s Capture These Sketches

I loved working with this sketch by Ness for my dt work on Let’s Capture These Sketches. I’ve been dying to scrap these awesome photos of Larry with Christian when he was just 4 months old. Our little ham is soooo good at imitating all of Larry’s weirdness, so it was fun to capture these images of him mirroring his daddy. I went with some fab papers, rubons and acrylic by Fancy Pants. I just added a touch of Tim Holtz alcohol ink to the acrylic star and mounted it to some coordinating ledger cardstock, then topped it with a fab Heidi Grace translucent button. The journaling spot is by Jillibean Soup. Here’s what I came up with:

Here’s Ness’ fabulous sketch:

TFL, and I hope to see your entry in the challenge!

A New Adventure in Every Book – Sketchy Thursdays Sept GDT Challenge

Each month, Sketchy Thursdays posts a new sketch for anyone who is interested in being a guest designer for their site to complete. Once you complete your take on the sketch, you simply post the link in the comments and members vote to select the GDT for the following month.

The twist for this month’s sketch is to use reading as the theme of your layout. Here’s my take on the challenge:

Materials:

MME Stella and Rose Mabel “Joy” paper
Crate Paper Toy Box Collection Build paper
CP Toy Box Explore paper
CP Toy Box trim
CP Toy Box diecuts
CP Toy Box Chipboard sticker
CP Toy Box diecut stickers
Twine from the Twinery

Adhesives:

Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Zap dots
Helmar Acid Free glue
Helmar adhesive runner

This is the Sept gdt sketch:

In case anyone is curious, the stacked books are in groups of 3 intentionally. When I take the kids to the library, they are each allowed to check out 3 books. My rule, not the library’s. The library would allow as many as the kids would like, but I find 3 is a good number for them to keep track of easily. TFL! If you’d like to play along too, CLICK HERE for details.
