Back to School – dt Layout for Creative Embellishments

It’s Thursday again, so I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a page I created based on the September My Mind’s Eye sketch and some fabulous Creative Embellishments Wood Cuts! Though I’ve created several pages using the awesome CE chippies, this was the first time I got to play with some of the wood pieces…and I AM IN LOVE! They are so adorable, detailed, resilient and oh-so-fun to alter!

Now that September is coming to a close and I am finally getting around to scrapping photos of my son, Alex’s, first day of school…from last year. lol But, thanks to all that procrastinating, I got to use these fun pieces on my page. 😀 Here’s what I created:

Make the Most of It – Art Journal page for SWAT

For my take on the SWAT drill #14 sketch with a twist (stickers NOT Thickers), I decided to create an art journal page. I managed to use 17 different stickers on this single page not including the alphas. Most of them are from Simple Stories, but the one border strip sticker is by My Mind’s Eye. Here’s what I came up with:

Drill #14 sketch:

Alphabet Love – MME June sketch entry

It’s been quite a while since I played along with the fabulous challenges over on the My Mind’s Eye blog and when I saw this month’s sketch, I couldn’t resist. I had these pics of Christian I’ve been wanting to scrap and knew the MME sketch would be perfect for them!

Christian has been obsessed with the letters of the alphabet since shortly after his first birthday. Singing the alphabet, playing with foam letter shaped pieces, watching The Letter Factory by leapfrog and signing the letters with his tiny hands. He loved and still loves anything to do with letters. These pics were taken when he was 1 year and 4 months old, happily munching on Cheerios while he played with an alphabet toy. 😀

Here’s what I came up with for the MME challenge:

This is the fantastic sketch I worked with:

MME Follow Your Heart “Be Amazing” papers, layered stickers, decorative buttons, paper clip and brads
MME Lost and Found II brad
Tim Holtz tissue tape
