#, 5, hugs and kisses – layout for Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a layout to share. ๐Ÿ˜€ This pic was taken almost 2 years ago and captures a little ritual that would happen several times a day, every day. Over and over again, Christian would sayโ€ฆPound? Five? Hug? Kiss?โ€ฆthen all over again. ๐Ÿ˜€ Here he is slouched on the couch just like Daddy. ๐Ÿ˜€

Son, Spread Your Wings – dt layout for Sketchabilities

Sketch #106 at Sketchabilities is now live! For my example for the challenge, I decided to go with a neutral background and pops of blue, rusty orange and metallics to compliment my photo of my oldest son, Taten.

As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to replace the circular elements and flourishes with Creative Embellishments gears and that fabulous steampunk clock and gear cluster I’ve been saving for the perfect page. Here’s what I came up with:

Spread Your Wings

Reluctant Model – layout for Sketchabilities #104

For my example of sketch #104 at Sketchabilities, I picked a photo that was taken of Matthew shortly after we got home after a haircut. He was tired and didn’t really want his picture taken at the moment, but I really thought he looked cute with his new cut, so I asked him to smile for one. He agreed to just 1…AFTER I’d taken this picture. lol I scrapped the photo of him grinning broadly a few weeks ago…this is actually a pic a took just seconds before that one. ๐Ÿ˜€

Steampunk Debutante Mini Album – dt project for Creative Embellishments Oct challenge

The Creative Embellishments October challenge is to create a layout, card, tag, art journal page or altered project (really anything you want!) with a steampunk theme! You do NOT have use CE products in order to play along and this challenge is open to everyone, everywhere! This challenge also runs through the end of the month, so all entries are due by 11:59 pm EST (USA) on October 31, 2013. One randomly selected winner with receive a $20 gc to the CE Store! ๐Ÿ˜€

For my example, I used their gorgeous steampunk butterfly, a set of wings and one of the gear corner pieces that I cut pieces off of in order to decorate a steampunk mini album. Their fabulously detailed, laser-cut chipboard is so much fun to alter and work with! I’m not going to post pics of the whole album, just the cover and 2 spreads that use CE chippies so you can see. Here’s what I came up with:

This is with the cover closed:

With the flap open:
