The Best Gift I Ever Received – You

Well before Matthew was born, a friend of mine had given Taten, Alex and Madison each a fleece blanket. Once Matthew got too big for his baby blanket, he really wanted a blanket like theirs. Alex (a real softy for Matthew) immediately gave him his blanket. When another friend of mine heard about this, she sent him a homemade, handtied fleece blanket for Christmas. It’s backed in red, which is Alex’s favorite color, and has a space theme…one of Alex’s many obsessions. 😀

Materials: Bazzill cardstock background (it was supposed to be black, but I accidentally started adhering the cutout pieces to the wrong paper, so I just went with it. :-P), Webster’s Pages Waiting for Santa Papers, tinsel trim, holiday trim, and diecut stickers, stickles, American Crafts plastic snowflake.

Created using this week’s sketch on the Sketchy Thursdays site. If you’d like to view the sketch or participate in one of their challenges, CLICK HERE.

Believe in Your Dreams

For this lo, I used core-dinations cardstock for the base, American Crafts white cardstock for the clouds, Webster’s Pages Vintage Inspired netting, WP alphas (they were white, but I colored them), Prima flowers, MME brads, Pink Paislee Artisan Elements Circle and Ornament, Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze, lace from my stash, DMC embroidery thread for the rectangle, threaded through the lace, and stitched on the clouds, Martha Stewart clear embossing powder, Heidi Grace stamp, Encore ink, and iridescent medium.

I used sketch#137 from Creative Scrapper and am also submitting it to Scrap Whisper’s challenge to use fabric/material in your layout, and Two Peas in a Bucket for their CHA challenge #10. I went with this color scheme for a challenge on Candy Shoppe Designs (white on white), but I missed the deadline since I’d only found out about it on Saturday and I had the kids all day. oh well! lol

Family

As you can by the photos, I can never get a good photo the first try. It usually takes 10 tries just to get one shot where all the kids are smiling or at least not blinking, but I figured it makes a funny multi-photo layout. 😀

For this lo I used MME Union Square Favorite papers and diecut.

This lo was created for sketch challenge #68 on Let’s Capture these Sketches. I turned the sketch sideways so I could use horizontal photos instead of vertical ones. I’m also submitting this lo to Sketches in Thyme for their lo challenge (use any sketch) and Two Peas in a Bucket for the CHA challenge #1. TFL!

Proud Brother

For this layout, I used Webster’s Pages Wonderfall papers, trim, bloomer, diecut sticker and alphas. I handstitched the “strings” on the balloones that overlap the striped paper.

Created based on Let’s Capture These Sketches Sketch#67. This lo will also be submitted to Sketches in Thyme, Scrap Whispers (use fabric and material) and Two Peas in a Bucket.
