Review – Bo Bunny Midnight Frost Collection Pack

I just created a single page, multi-photo layout using the BoBunny Midnight Frost Collection Pack. The package includes 18 sheets of double sided cardstock (2 each of 9 designs) and 1 accessory sheet with alphas and coordinating diecut shapes. This line has such gorgeous, deeply rich colors, that I was very impressed. I love how many of the papers have one side that is more muted and feature a distressed appearance, making them fabulous bases for layering. I also greatly enjoyed the accessory sheet that comes with the papers. Here’s what I created:

For this layout, I used the sketch provided on their blog for their Friday challenge. CLICK HERE if you’d like to create a layout for their challenge too. Hope you enjoy the Midnight Frost collection as much as I did! 😀

Review – Unity Stamps Company un-mounted rubber stamps

I recently received my first set of un-mounted rubber stamps made by Unity Stamp Company. The set I tried out was the Co-branded Sweet Season set featuring Webster’s Pages designs.

Upon opening the packaging, which was very environmentally friendly, I quickly noticed that these stamps already have the cling foam attached for you and are already pre-cut! All you have to do is punch them out, peel the protective white paper off of the cling and you’re ready to go! No more sticky foam mounting and messy cutting with these fabulous stamps! A+++ for ease of use. 😀

I then inked them up and took them for a test run. I was very impressed with the deeply etched intricate designs, the high quality rubber and even the quality of the cling foam that they use. The resulting impressions were gorgeous! I can’t wait to get my hands on some more!

Unity Stamp Co. offers a wide variety of un-mounted red rubber stamps, and some mounted stamps as well. They now also offer 11 Co-brands such as; IOD (Iron Orchid Designs), Cosmo Cricket, Donna Downey, Echo Park, Webster’s Pages, Bella Blvd and more! Many of the Co-Brands cater to papercrafters, so their stamps are designed to coordinate with their designer papers!

Currently in their sale section, you’ll find many goodies priced below $10. Lots of their kits are marked down 30%-75% off for their year end clearance! PLUS They are offering FREE SHIPPING until the end of the year (so you’d better hurry!) AND a FREE STAMP for every $10 you spend until Jan 3rd 10am CST.

Webster’s Pages – Scrapbook Paper and Embellishments

I’m pretty new to the world of scrapbooking, but I’ve done a lot of “shopping around.” I’ve discovered a lot of brands that I adore and will eventually get around to sharing them all with you, but I’d like to start with my absolute favorite! Webster’s Pages (www.websterspages.com) has papers, diecut pages, embellishments, trim, journaling cards, etc. that is to die for! Gorgeous, detailed, high quality products. Here are some pics of the layout I created using some of their fantastic papers, stickers and a journaling card.

This layout was created using core’dinations cardstock (the background paper), Webster’s pages 6″ x 6 ” paper for all of the photo mats and frames, Webster’s Pages stickers (the tree, branches and leaves, and butterflies) and journaling card (bottom left corner), Cloud9 rub-ons and Prima flowers.

Here’s a closeup of where I’ve tucked a hidden tag (with a private message for my son) which I matted with Webster’s Pages paper and tied with assorted fibers and charms.

This layout was my entry in the Webster’s Pages September Challenge. I was very impressed with the quality of the papers and how durable their journaling cards are. I adore their lovely designs and vintage look. I just wish I’d had more of their products to work with! I do feel, however, that my layout shows how nicely the Webster’s Pages products coordinate with anything you’ve got on hand. Their products would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s crafting supplies

My experience with Aden & Anais Swaddle Blankets/Wraps

I was blessed with the birth of my first son during the heat of summer…with no air conditioning. Fun right? I soon found that though he preferred to be swaddled, typical receiving blankets were much too warm for my tiny buddle of joy (at this point, he was actually more like a screaming terror). I scoured department stores for thinner blankets and came up empty handed. Luckily, I had 2 muslin pillowcases which I promptly cut apart to make my own breathable, lightweight swaddling wraps for him, which was functional even if it wasn‘t pretty. Phew! Crisis averted.

To my relief, my second child was born in the middle of winter. Unfortunately, she grew so quickly, she was already 20 lbs by 3 months and outgrew all of her receiving blankets. Back to the store I dutifully went in search of larger blankets. It didn’t take long to find out that most blankets came in one of 2 sizes, and the larger size was very, VERY hard to find. With little success, I made do with the couple I was able to scrounge up and simply did her laundry a lot more frequently than would have been necessary.

My third child? No prob…winter baby and tiny. J

Which brings us to the present. My fourth and final child…born in the summer (this time with air conditioning. Thank goodness!), and getting larger exponentially with every passing week. With flashbacks of my previous experiences running through my mind, I frantically searched for a solution…and what did I find? These fantastic muslin swaddling wraps! Why didn’t I find these sooner?!! Not only are they lightweight, soft and stretchy (so the baby doesn’t feel like he/she is in a straight-jacket), they’re also LARGE! Whether your baby is big or small, tall or short, skinny or wide, these blankets are PERFECT! Thin enough to swaddle a summer baby outside, yet warm enough for the coolest of air conditioned rooms.

These versatile wraps can be used to swaddle your baby, toss over your stroller to shield baby from the sun, cover you and baby while nursing, line the stroller or car seat, or cover a changing table. They can also be used as a burp cloth or a tummy-time blanket. If you can think of it, chances are these blankets can be used for it!

Soft, breathable, lightweight and generously proportioned, these swaddlers are 47” x 47” each and made from pre-washed 100% cotton muslin. The best part is…the more you wash them, the softer they get!
