Thankful Fall is Here – layout for SWAT drill #20

***GIVEAWAY op at the end of this post***

It’s the 3rd Saturday of the month, so there’s a new challenge up at SWAT. Drill #20 is a sketch with the added challenge of incorporating feathers on your project. For my take on the sketch, I decided to go with a photo of my son, Matthew, when he was 4 (he’s 7 now). He had made a cute costume in preschool out of a paper bag and looked darling showing off his little Indian costume, so I snapped a couple of quick pics. ๐Ÿ˜€

I ended up rotating the sketch because I also wanted to incorporate the chipboard tree and wood 3×4 card by Creative Embellishments on this page. The leaves and feathers are also by CE…aren’t they great?!! Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to alter many of them in order to get my page uploaded in time for the deadline. I KNEW I really really wanted to use CE products on my page and they arrived just in the nick of time. ๐Ÿ˜€ Here’s what I came up with for the challenge:

Here’s the sketch for Drill #20 (don’t forget to add feathers to your entry too!)…

drill 20 + feathers

Creative Embellishments feather wood cuts
CE chipboard leafy tree
CE 3″ x 4″ Thankful wood card
CE mini leaves wood cuts
Webster’s Pages Family Traditions cards, paper, leaf resin and charm
WP whimsey bird and heart

You Are My Sunshine – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

***Be sure to read the giveaway info at the end***

Hi, everyone! Another Thursday means I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with another project to share. ๐Ÿ˜€ย  This week, I created a layout using TONS of GORGEOUS Creative Embellishments laser cut chipboard pieces. If you didn’t already know, I LOVE their fabulous, high quality products and intricate, fun designs. To create this entire layout, I only used 1 sheet of pp and 2 doilies. Other than the stamping, everything else you see is made by Creative Embellishments! ๐Ÿ˜€

The pic I selected for my page is of my youngest son when he was a few months old. Any time I would leave the room, he was search for me even to the point of arching his back and doing back bends to look into the next room! It’s hard to tell in the photo, but that’s what he’s doing. A back bend just to see me. ๐Ÿ˜€ I was also inspired by the Monday mojo sketch over at the Flying Unicorn forum. Here’s what I came up with:

You Are My Sunshine lo

The Freaks Come Out at Night – layout for Creative Embellishments

I’m up today on the Creative Embellishments blog with a Halloween layout to share using some of their fabulous laser cut chipboard and wood cuts. ๐Ÿ˜€ These are pics of my son, Alex, wearing his first โ€œscaryโ€ costume, taken a couple of years ago. He decided to go as the grim reaper and was very excited about wearing something different from his usual cutesy costumes. I altered all the pieces using acrylic paint, gesso and webbing. For my page this week, I was also inspired by a sketch from Flying Unicorn. Hereโ€™s what I came up with:

CE Going Batty wood cuts
CE Web panel
CE flourish set 7
CE The Freaks Come Out at Night title piece
CE Zombie Graveyard border piece
CE Harlequin lattice panel
