Choose Happy – No Photo layout for Sketchy Thursdays

This month on the Paper Secrets forum, I am hosting the color challenge. Now that Christmas has just passed and it’s New Years (and Winter here in the US), I have shimmery metallics in my head. Gold goes so well with traditional or vintagy Christmas colors and silver goes so well with blues, whites, and Wintery papers.

My January challenge for you is to scrap a page, card or altered project using GOLD OR SILVER on it! You don’t need to use both. Just Gold Or Silver on your paper based project and upload to the PS gallery by Jan 31, 2012.

For my example for the challenge, I used the current Sketchy Thursdays sketch for inspiration. With my goals for 2012 in mind, I went with a no-photo layout and used Melody Ross pp’s and chipboard pieces. I also adapted this layout to the canvas on my previous post.

Here’s what I came up with for the Sketchy Thursdays challenge:

Here’s the wonderful ST 12.29 sketch I used:

Altered Canvas – Helmar December Challenge

Most Monday nights, Tracy hosts a Ustream show for Helmar and demonstates the different Helmar products. During this process, she’s also sharing a bit of herself, her favorite techniques and we all have a blast. Her vivacious personality and creativity have been an major inspiration to me in 2011 and I’m sure will continue to push me out of my comfort zone in 2012. 😀 For the Helmar December sketch challenge, I decided to create a canvas…my first…using Melody Ross pp and chipboard, watercolor crayons, Tattered Angels glimmer mists and glimmer glam and a touch of acrylic paint, along with some Helmar Decoupage paste and a few dabs of 450 Quick Dry. It’s an adaptation of a no-photo layout I’ll be posting here tomorrow. Here’s what I came up with based on the December sketch:
