Angel of Mine – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

I am soooo thrilled that today is the first reveal for the new dt at Creative Embellishments! I just love what everyone came up with for their examples for the March challenge. Be sure to stop by the CE blog and check it out! 😀

For my take on the challenge, I was inspired by the colors, placement of the colors, the flowers, butterflies and fairy wings from the inspo photo. There’s also a stunning sketch by one of our team members, Tammy, to combine with the inspiration image this month.

To create my page, I started with white cardstock and adhered crumpled tissue paper to the areas I wanted each color. Once dried, I went over the wrinkles lightly with gesso to bring out the texture. I then added a doodled border to go with the whimsical feel of the page and tied that in by outlining a few of the fussy cut flowers. All of my chippies have been altered with a silver gelato and PITT markers.  Here’s what I came up with:

#Cute Smile – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! It’s Thursday, so I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a layout to share. This week I went with a few older pics of Madison and Matthew. I’ve already used the best photos from this sitting, so these were ones that were more flattering photos of Matthew. They really show off his sweet smile with his cutie dimples. Somehow, he’s my only kiddo with those deep dimples…not sure how that happened, but I think they’re adorable. 😀

To create my background, I used 3 CE stamps. I started out by stamping the script stamp and the heart shape stamp with Stazon ink, then used embossing ink with the Love Heart stamp and heat embossed using Lindy’s Stamp Gang EP. I used several Prima stencils with chalk ink and Shimmerz Texturez to complete my background.

I decided to finish off my page with some awesome CE wood veneers and a couple of social hashtag words for my title. I was also inspired by CSI-Color Stories Inspiration S365-4 challenge and the Skissedilla sketch #232. Here’s how it turned out:

Here’s a close up of the heart layered on the photos (this piece is from my favorite wood veneer set!). Sorry for the blurry pic. Lately, I’ve had to take a lot of indoor nighttime pics which doesn’t work well for me.

Warm & Cozy – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

Hi, everyone! It’s Thursday, so I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a layout to share. 😀 I snapped this normal everyday pic of Madison one day when then kids were all camping out in the living room. She’s all snuggled up in her favorite blanket which was given to her by a friend of mine before she was even born.

To create my background, I used the Creative Embellishments Bokeh stamp with some gelatos. It didn’t turn out quite how I’d intended because after stamping with it, I had wanted to blur the lines a bit and misted it with more water. Too much water. lol So It’s splotchier than it started out being. After that goof, I had to continue with it, so I went ahead and made the rest of the background to match. lol I altered both the flourish and the Out of this World chipboard pieces with gelatos as well, but went with an acrylic paint on the Chunky Alphas. Here’s how it turned out:

warm and cozy

Materials:

Creative Embellishments Circle Bokeh stamp
CE Out of This World frame
CE Chunky Alphabet
CE Flourish set 15
13 Arts papers
Webster’s Pages charm and clip
lace from my stash
Design Memory Craft gelatos
gesso
acrylic paint
prima flowers
doilies from my stash
Martha Stewart punches
Spellbinders die

For my page, I was inspired by the February mood board at Scrap Around the World:

SATW february moodboard

I liked the circular scattered elements in the background of the lower left image and the colors from the chevron image. I also incorporated a touch of metallic elements inspired by the lower right image.

I also went with the February 1st Stuck?! Sketch to create my page:

Last but not least, Scrap Africa’s challenge #26 is to incorporate altered chipboard, so I’m entering that challenge with my page as well. TFL!

#Sweetheart – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

I’m back on the Creative Embellishments blog for Thursdays, so I have a layout to share. My youngest son is our wild child and little he does would be what we’d consider typical. Considering we’ve got 5 kids, that’s saying a lot. lol My little critter has been climbing onto the back of the couch since before he could walk. Even now, at 3 1/2, he likes to lay across the back of the couch when watching tv or just hanging out. He recently started reading, but he’s always enjoyed looking at his books as seen in these pics.

I was inspired by 2 challenges when creating my page. CSI-Color Stories Inspiration case file #109 and sketch 27.1 from Page Drafts. I’ve also used a script bg stamp that is not yet listed in the store, so keep your eye out for this beauty! 😀

Here’s what I came up with:

#sweetheart

Here’s a close up of one of the newest Creative Embellishments flourishes:

From the evidence column, I chose to stack something (papers) and included frames. From the testimony column, I used “read” as my inspiration word for the journaling. TFL!
