Bo Bunny Card-The Paper Variety Challenge Entry

Romy posted a really cute sketch for the Bo Bunny card challenge. I decided to play along to use up some of my Gabrielle scraps and also play along with the Sticker Challenge on The Paper Variety at the same time! πŸ˜€ I managed to use 6 stickers on this card. Here’s my take on the sketch combined with the sticker challenge:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers
Gabrielle cardstock stickers
Gabrielle stickers chipboard
Gabrielle Layered Chipboard stickers
Gabrielle trinket
Queen & Co rhinestones

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive runner
Helmar Zap Dots (foam dots)
Helmar 450 Quick Dry

Two Cards – Bo Bunny and Paper Secrets

Bo Bunny tends to post a card challenge on their blog about every other week or so and this time, they posted a really great card sketch on July 30th which is due tomorrow evening (Aug 14, 2011). Since I’m still learning to make cards, I figured this would be a great opportunity to work on a fun challenge. Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Bo Bunny Timepiece pp
BB Timepiece diecut stickers
BB Timepiece chipboard
American Crafts solid cardstock base
Distress Inks

Adhesives:

Helmar Adhesive runner

This is the fab sketch they posted:

Next is a card I created for the Paper Secrets Card Challenge with a twist. The twist was to use chipboard, bling/pearls and ribbon.

I entered one of the layouts I’d created using Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate papers and trim into the Scrapbookers Anonymous challenge and you get a bonus entry when you use the scraps for a card. Since I got the fab Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate Papers from the Paper Secrets store (they have a 20% off offer right now that ends tomorrow at midnight. Use coupon code take20 at checkout), I figured the scraps from my layout would be perfect for this card! Here’s what I came up with:

Materials:

Webster’s Pages Let’s Celebrate pp
WP Let’s Celebrate trim
WP trendsetter chipboard button
Kaisercraft rhinestones
Distress Ink
American Crafts cardstock base

Adhesives:

Helmar adhesive runner
Helmar 450 Quick Dry
Helmar Zap Dots

Here’s the pagemaps sketch for the card challenge:

4 Sassy Lil’ Cards

A while back, I found this awesome site with some really fun card sketches. It’s called Sassy Lil’ Cards and it’s been sitting in my faves complete unused. Until now. It’s taken a while to get to this point, but I’m actually starting to really enjoy making cards! I remember when I posted my first few card creations, I felt the need to preface it with…”sorry, I’m still learning”! Though I’m still not where I’d like to be, I’m no longer embarrassed to show my latest pieces. πŸ˜€ I think it helps a lot when you get to work with such wonderful sketches. They’re great for beginners beceause they give you a jumping off point and they’re great for seasoned card makers since they mix things up a bit. I love the versatility of sketches!
