Soar – Creative Embellishments and CSI Case 161 plus Stuck?! Sketches April 1st challenge

Several members of the Creative Embellishments team are on the CSI, Color Stories Inspiration ning sharing how we cracked case 161. ๐Ÿ˜€ For my take on this challenge, also used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

Here’s what I came up with:

From the evidence column, I opted to include circles, a clock, wet mediums, and something that flies. From the testimony column, I went with journaling in a circular shape.

#Cute Smile – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

Hi everyone! It’s Thursday, so I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a layout to share. This week I went with a few older pics of Madison and Matthew. I’ve already used the best photos from this sitting, so these were ones that were more flattering photos of Matthew. They really show off his sweet smile with his cutie dimples. Somehow, he’s my only kiddo with those deep dimples…not sure how that happened, but I think they’re adorable. ๐Ÿ˜€

To create my background, I used 3 CE stamps. I started out by stamping the script stamp and the heart shape stamp with Stazon ink, then used embossing ink with the Love Heart stamp and heat embossed using Lindy’s Stamp Gang EP. I used several Prima stencils with chalk ink and Shimmerz Texturez to complete my background.

I decided to finish off my page with some awesome CE wood veneers and a couple of social hashtag words for my title. I was also inspired by CSI-Color Stories Inspiration S365-4 challenge and the Skissedilla sketch #232. Here’s how it turned out:

#cute smile

Here’s a close up of the heart layered on the photos (this piece is from my favorite wood veneer set!). Sorry for the blurry pic. Lately, I’ve had to take a lot of indoor nighttime pics which doesn’t work well for me.

Love Birds and Young Love – 2 dt layouts for Creative Embellishments

It’s Thursday again, which means I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog. This week, I have two layouts to share. ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™ve never had a signature style and like to play around and experiment a lot, so my pages range all the way from CAS to very grungy and mixed media. I also love to play around with different challenges and techniques, so Iโ€™m a fairly eclectic scrapper. Anyway, this week Iโ€™m sharing two very different pages with you that use the same paper collection. For both pages, I used Websterโ€™s Pages In Love papers. They had a bunch of challenges running this last week and I wanted to play along with them. ๐Ÿ˜€ As a matter of fact, the layout I shared last Thursday won Day 1 of their challenges! ๐Ÿ˜€

For this first page, I combined a sketch from Stuck on U Sketches (Nicolle, the owner of Creative Embellishments is on their dt) with the Websterโ€™s Pages Scrap Your Stash Day 4 challenge โ€“ Use something metallic. I altered my chippies with Design Memory Craft Pitt markers in several different colors including silver. Hereโ€™s what I came up with:

Love Birds

For this second page, I took a much cleaner, straight forward approach for the WP Scrap Your Stash Day 5 โ€“ sketch challenge. I splattered several shades of shimmer mist onto my page w/the black background, making sure that the wood veneers that were on either side of my title got ample color to them. Hereโ€™s how it turned out:

Young Love

I decided to share both pages on the CE blog today to show how versatile Creative Embellishments products really are and how wonderfully they work with any style you can imagine! ๐Ÿ˜€

Materials:

Creative Embellishments Love Birds chipboard set
CE Showered With Love border
CE conversation hearts wood veneers
CE Hearts, Bows and Arrows Wood Veneers
Webster’s Pages In Love pp, fabric ticket, clips, bloomers, charms, lace, alphas
Lindy’s Stamp Starburst Mists
I am Roses flowers
Design Memory Crafts Pitt Artists Markers
Distress Ink

Just Me and My Shadow – dt layout for Creative Embellishments

After a 2 week break, I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a layout to share! ๐Ÿ˜€ For my page I went with this photo Iโ€™ve been saving from our trip to the beach. Our youngest son, Christian, loves to imitate everyone and his favorite subject to mimic is, of course, his father. ๐Ÿ˜€

I combined the Scrap Friends sketch with the inspiration board at Scrap Around the World along with some FABULOUS Creative Embellishments chipboard and Wood Veneers. Here’s what I came up with:

Just Me and My Shadow

Materials:

Creative Embellishments Together Frame Set
CE Time Flies Frame Set
CE Funky Alphas
CE Wood Veneer gears
American Crafts cardstock
Lindy’s Stamp Gang Moon Shadow and Starburst color shots
The Crafter’s Workshop stencils
Liquitex blended fibers, modeling paste and coarse pumice
twine
dry wall tape
sequins
washer
tissue paper
October Afternoon mini market alpha stickers
Shimmerz Texturez

Scrap Around the World Mood Board:

Jan Mood Board 2014

I was inspired by the textures on the tea cups, so I included dimensional stenciling with modeling paste and blended fibers. I was also inspired by the beach image, the colors, texture from the sand, so I incorporated glass bead and coarse pumice with the stenciling and texture work. I added a touch of metal and gears for the bike. I left the wood and chipboard bare for the natural colors from the baskets on the bicycles and the table and chairs. I included glass cabochons and twine inspired by the image on the bottom right.

Here’s the fabulous Scrap Friends sketch I worked with:
