The Freaks Come Out at Night – layout for Creative Embellishments

I’m up today on the Creative Embellishments blog with a Halloween layout to share using some of their fabulous laser cut chipboard and wood cuts. 😀 These are pics of my son, Alex, wearing his first “scary” costume, taken a couple of years ago. He decided to go as the grim reaper and was very excited about wearing something different from his usual cutesy costumes. I altered all the pieces using acrylic paint, gesso and webbing. For my page this week, I was also inspired by a sketch from Flying Unicorn. Here’s what I came up with:

Halloween Treat Bags – project for Creative Embellishments

Happy Halloween everyone! I’m up again at the Creative Embellishments blog with a project to share. This week, I decided to share a few little treat bags I created for my kiddos. These are real simple, quick, and easy to make, so they’d be a snap for Halloween parties and classrooms as well. For my base, I used the Tim Holtz In the Bag die, but you can easily find templates online that you can trace and cut out too.

***Be sure to check out the Creative Embellishments Store too! ALL Halloween items are 20% off (no coupon code required) now through the entire weekend!***

Here’s how my baggies turned out, decorated with tons of CE goodness:

Back to School – dt Layout for Creative Embellishments

It’s Thursday again, so I’m up on the Creative Embellishments blog with a page I created based on the September My Mind’s Eye sketch and some fabulous Creative Embellishments Wood Cuts! Though I’ve created several pages using the awesome CE chippies, this was the first time I got to play with some of the wood pieces…and I AM IN LOVE! They are so adorable, detailed, resilient and oh-so-fun to alter!

Now that September is coming to a close and I am finally getting around to scrapping photos of my son, Alex’s, first day of school…from last year. lol But, thanks to all that procrastinating, I got to use these fun pieces on my page. 😀 Here’s what I created:
